What a great day!
We’d like to thanks everyone involved in OneFest yesterday. It was an action packed day at The Plahouse with two sessions of great one act plays. The audience laughed, cried and were entertained all day. Thank you to everyone from the directors, casts, crew, production team, sponsor, adjudicator and host. All the small parts you contribute make a wonderful whole, just as we saw yesterday. Check out the below pic of the award winners and the listing below that. See you again next year!

Now THAT’S what I call a festival!
Yesterday, Saturday 20 August, over 50 writers, directors and performers strutted their stuff on The Playhouse Theatre stage. Presenting eight one act plays across two entertainment-packed sessions to an enthusiastic audience. The show opener by Musical Theatre Crew was great – such high energy really put us all in the mood to be entertained. And entertained we were.
I’d like to give a big shout out to Karissa Lane and Scott Hunt, without whom this festival wouldn’t have been possible. Karissa’s well considered insight into the performances was great. It’s so rare to hear the point of view of a professional so close to seeing a performance. And Scott, what can we say to Scott except, thank you. Your entertaining interludes strung the festival together for us and kept the pace going during change-overs. Thank you to both of you. We couldn’t have done it without you and we’d love to have you back again.
The OneFest team- both backstage and front of house- put in some long hours and I’m so very grateful to them for their dedication and efforts. It’s this invisible team working behind the scenes who give theatre it’s magic and yesterday was no exception. Good magic guys, you’re tops.
I’d also like to highlight our wonderful patrons too: thank you. Thank you for supporting local community theatre from across the state, and thank you for your ongoing support of OneFest. We are a small event in the grand program of theatre events in Hobart each calendar year, but we sure got spirit – and you are all a big part of this.
Last and definitely not least I’d like to thank our sponsor, Naj Espresso. Without patrons like these guys theatre would be a little poorer. With sponsors like these guys we’ve been able to share this festival with many more people. So, go buy a coffee from them, let them know you’re from OneFest and you appreciate their support. I know where I’ll be buying my coffee from now on! We’d love to do another festival with them next year. Thank you.
Love, Carolyn
