Introducing – Maeve Mhairi MacGregor  |  Adjudicator

OneFest is delighted to announce that Maeve will be our adjudicator in 2017!

Maeve is a Tasmania-based, nationally transient theatre maker, and the Artistic Director of Loud Mouth Theatre Co. She is currently studying a Masters of Cultural Leadership at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, and holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) also from NIDA. She was a finalist at the Tasmanian Young Achiever of the Year awards, 2016, was accepted in to the Playwriting Australia 2015 New Work Director’s Studio, and has trained with acting and directing teachers such as Anthony Skuse and Larry Moss.

Her performance credits cover work for the New Theatre, Tamarama Rock Surfers and Sydney Chamber Opera in Sydney, Terrapin Puppet Theatre, Tasmanian Theatre Company and LMTC in Tasmania, and brief stints on telly including Home and Away and The Kettering Incident. She has worked extensively in producing, production and design with Loud Mouth Theatre Company, and her work as a director has been nominated for several Tasmanian Theatre Awards.

She threatened Leo Schofield with a bogan flashmob once, and has been a proud member of MEAA since 2014.

Introducing – Scott Hunt  |  Host

Scott is a well-known local actor with a background in media and entertainment stretching back to the early seventies. He is an experienced producer, radio announcer, television compere and MC and worked for a time as Talent Coordinator for the Bert Newton Show.

No stranger to OneFest, Scott has taken home awards from our last two festivals for his writing (Sputnik Rising, The Cards, Interesting People) and received favourable reviews as director of Habeas Corpus for Hobart Rep earlier this year.

His 2012 novel Dumb As Morris Dancing, a Hobart-based romance thriller, features The Playhouse and a Rep production.

OneFest 2017

Welcome to OneFest 2017!

I have recently been appointed as Festival Director and the production team and I are currently putting together an amazing weekend of one act entertainment for 18 & 19 August 2017 at the Playhouse Theatre.

If you would like to participate in this years festival follow the links to the Entry Forms and Terms & Conditions.

We are calling for plays 30 mins or less, written locally or further afield to make a diverse program.
